Febuary 2009

    Feb. 14---Matthew Minnich: CRM at the westside Barnes & Noble will speak at the Doris Van Doren Library At 2 o'clock. Visitors and prospective members are encouraged to attend. He will address store procedures concerning book signings and book purchases
    Bio: In Nov. 2008, Matthew Minnich became the CRM--or Community Relations Manager--at the west side Barnes and Noble. As such, he's in charge of setting up all book signings and events. Matthew has worked at both Barnes & Noble locations. He was at the east side store for seven years and is currently in his fifth year at the west side location.

March 2009
 
 March 14- 2pm, Dorris Van Doren Library on Redd Road, Jordan Hansen will present our program. Jordan represents Hansen_McMenamy Literary Services and Books, a new company in El Paso, located on Remcon Circle on the westside.  The comapny opened in January of this year.  Jordan attended the University of California San Diego and New Mexico State University.  She has experience in marketing, many media contact and promotion skills.

June 13 - Christine Susany, author, educator and past president of EPWL, will present the program, Ekphrasic Writing: Making the Connection Between Artist and Author.
July 11 - Ken Kenyon's topic for the meeting is "Journaling, Taking Notes Along the Way." August 8 - Johnny Payne, Chair of the Department of Creative Writing at UTEP, will be our speaker. (More later.)
